Group running for local life-saving scheme

A group from Hampshire have been training hard in preparation for this year’s Great South Run. Danny Windust, Emma Corcoran, Jo Symons and Lee Baker aim to raise much-needed funds for the Andover Community First Responder Scheme (ACFRS), a completely self-funded organisation that provides immediate lifesaving treatment following Category ‘A’ medical emergencies.

Danny, Emma, Jo and Lee, who are from Andover, chose to enter the Great South Run to raise a total of £2,000 to buy essential life-saving equipment for the scheme.

Paul Howe, Managing Director of Venture Security, who supports the scheme said, “These are wonderful people, who give up their free time to help others in time of need, who are now going a step further to raise money for the group. I am sure that anyone who has had to call for an ambulance during a serious emergency will testify to the importance of this scheme.”

ACFRS are looking for people who can spare some time each month to help save lives in the Andover area. If you think you have what it takes to help, or would like to make a donation, please contact Danny Windust at danny.windust@scas.nhs.uk
