Real security men don’t bounce

The origins of the term ‘bouncer’ date back to 1883, when the London Daily News gave the following definition: “’The Bouncer' is merely the English 'chucker out'. When liberty verges on license and gaiety on wanton delirium, the Bouncer selects the gayest of the gay, and - bounces him!"

These days, there’s less of the Dickensian charm and the term ‘bouncer’ is often applied to us doormen or security personnel, embodying the act of such individuals ‘bouncing’ troublemakers from the premises which they protect.

We want to redress the balance slightly, because when it comes to us at Venture, there’s a lot more to what we do than ‘chucking people out’.

We pride ourselves on being proactive professionals, not just heavyweights looking to assert some authority over merrymakers. That’s why our remit covers such a broad expanse, and why you’ll find Venture staff entrusted with VIP close protection, exclusive functions, key holding services and residential security too. Of course, we man the doors of clubs, pubs and similar establishments in the Basingstoke, Salisbury and Winchester areas, but we do so with the same ethic, which is why people are keen to have us back and why we hold so many long-term security contracts.

The Venture team aren’t a bunch of scary doormen hired to throw people out of pubs, although that might be the image conjured to mind when someone says ‘bouncer’. We always do our job in a dignified and respectful way to maintain your reputation, look after your clientele and retain our image of being a first-rate security firm. We’ll leave the bouncing to the kangaroos!
