We're now on the hunt for exceptional Security Officers to join us. But not just anyone! We're searching for the top 1%. The elite few.
At Venture, we are proud to be accredited as a living wage employer by the Living Wage Foundation. This means we have committed to paying all our permanent employees at least the minimum hourly rate of pay, as calculated by the foundation. This is currently £9.50 in the UK and £10.85 in London - a rate that is significantly higher than the statutory minimum for over 25s.
Managing director Paul Howe explains: “Venture was one of the first security companies in the south of England to commit to paying a living wage. We did so because we’ve always believed in paying fairly and in line with the cost of living.
“You just can’t expect people to survive on the minimum wage and the Living Wage Foundation recognises this discrepancy. Which is why we’re supporting National Living Wage Week 2020 and hope it inspires other organisations to commit to fair wages.”
Venture’s Living Wage commitment is just one of the ways the company supports employees, their wellbeing and professional development. In April 2019, Venture introduced an employee benefits reward scheme, which delivers benefits ranging from local offers and discounts, to medical care and support, and access to expert advice services.
Paul continued: “At Venture, we know that providing the highest quality of service comes down to the quality of the people we employ. We spend a lot of time ensuring we hire individuals who are going to be a great fit for the culture of the organisation. We then invest in their professional development, through ongoing training and support designed to help each individual achieve their long-term goals.
“It is because of the great team of people we have pulled together that the company continues to grow, and we thank everyone for their dedication and commitment.”
As well as conducting regular performance reviews, Venture undertakes an annual employee feedback survey to guage how employees are feeling about the company and their role. Externally, employees are also encouraged to share their views and to rate Venture as an employer on the jobsite Indeed. These ratings are consistently higher than those given to many other security providers.
