We're now on the hunt for exceptional Security Officers to join us. But not just anyone! We're searching for the top 1%. The elite few.
Specially trained officers from Venture Security are making a positive impact in Trowbridge, as part of a Safer Streets initiative funded by Wiltshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
Dedicated “Night Wardens” are helping protect and support vulnerable individuals, providing a reassuring presence during evening hours. The Night Wardens conduct patrols every Friday and Saturday night between 8pm and 4am. Their mission is to address violence against women and girls, reduce antisocial behaviour, and enhance overall safety on the streets.
The launch of the scheme follows the introduction of a similar initiative in Salisbury city centre earlier this year and builds on Venture’s work across the region, where the company has been active for more than 16 years.
Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Wilkinson said: “Safer public spaces for all our communities – and a safer night-time economy – in Wiltshire is a key priority within my police and crime plan and for Wiltshire Police. Our communities tell me they want to feel safer and for crimes, like anti-social behaviour in our public spaces, to be tackled robustly.
“Having night-time economy wardens in Trowbridge, as well as Salisbury, is a great step towards tackling violence against women and girls, as these wardens will bolster existing neighbourhood and response policing teams - they are not a replacement for them.
“Both the Chief Constable and I remain committed to visible, community-based, policing.
“Our wardens will be a continual presence in the town centre, with a focus on safety and intervention-based patrols, to ensure everyone can enjoy a safer night out but especially so women and girls can feel reassured and safe."
Paul Howe, Managing Director of Venture Security, explains: “We’re delighted to be providing this service in Trowbridge. Our officers are trained in conflict management and have received bystander training from the Suzy Lamplugh Trust. They are vigilant and ready to provide support when needed.”
Venture Security recently secured the mobile security contract for Wiltshire Council and is helping safeguard public buildings, preventing theft, and supporting secure movement within the authority.
In addition, Venture actively works on similar projects with Salisbury City Council and Salisbury BID to address antisocial behaviour. The company has also provided similar services in Andover, Basingstoke, Fareham and Winchester.
Headquartered in Andover, Venture Security—a family-run company—provides specialised security services for corporate and residential clients across central southern England. Their dedication places them among the top 0.5% of UK security providers.
