SITUATION

Stannah is one of the UK’s leading engineering companies. It remains an independent, family owned and run firm today. From its base in Andover, the company designs, manufactures and installs lifts and stairlifts, with customers based across the world.

Prior to contracting Venture Security, Stannah had been experiencing issues with its previous security company that are often found within the security industry – high turnover and poor calibre of security staff. It was felt that the service being delivered was no longer reaching the standard required, so the facilities team decided to review their options.

ACTION 

Venture was recommended to Stannah by an existing supplier and was a natural choice being a local, family run company that is focused on quality standards and methods of best practice. The two companies also share a similar ethos in relation to training and development and believe in fair pay for staff.

Venture now provides a range of different security services for Stannah, being flexible in supporting shift patterns that can change at short notice due to production schedules and providing a comprehensive and robust reporting process.

RESULTS 

  • 19 Stannah sites located across Andover and Salisbury are being protected by Venture
  • The same fully trained and SIA licensed security officers work at Stannah wherever possible, providing continuity and familiarity
  • Telecentre staff who work shift patterns are kept safe by the Venture team, who man the front desk as an added security measure outside of usual opening hours
  • Responsibility is taken off staff members, with Venture acting as a keyholder and managing the locking and unlocking of the premises every day
  • Alarm activations are responded to quickly, with Venture having an average response time of 20 minutes
  • Venture’s security officers act as a deterrent and close any window of opportunity for would-be criminals by carrying out mobile patrols at random times throughout the night
